About Bare Maple

Bare Maple began as a simple, personal struggle—and grew into a heartfelt mission.

As a mom, I was constantly searching for the right shoes to support my baby’s natural foot development. I always bought them in Europe. Each visit coming from Europe got the same request: Can someone please bring us barefoot shoes? Friends and family generously filled their luggage with tiny shoes for my son—thank you, all of you, for helping us step forward, quite literally.

But after our family lost our home and everything we had during the devastating wildfire in Jasper in July 2024, I felt a deep urge to rebuild with purpose. That moment became the spark that lit the fire behind Bare Maple.

I decided to take a risk and start something I couldn’t find in Canada—a store dedicated to barefoot shoes for babies.  The store with shoes designed with natural movement, comfort, and development in mind. As one of the first of its kind here, Bare Maple is more than just a shoe store — it’s a small, mom-founded business built on love, resilience, and a passion for healthy beginnings. Because the health of our little ones is worth it.
